NOTES FOR CYCLISTS.
— T. B. Jenkins, of the Bohemian Cycling Club, Ballftrat, has covered 50 miles in 3 hours 59 minutes. — Mr Jamos Lennox, a son of the Provost of Dumfries, has travelled from John O'Groat's to Land's End, 1100 miles in nine days. There was a stoppage caused by a break down, and another delay of several heurs owing to a gale. — In the fifty mile« English amateur .■ bicycling «baapienship, tit* wisuwr e©v«r»d ih* distaow,
though the track was rather heavy with rain, in 2 hours 4(5 minutes 50 l-sth sees., the rate of going being about 18 miles an hour all through. —At the Crystal Palace, Mr P. R. Fry, of Clifton, has beaten all previous bicycle records, professional and amateur, from fifty-one to one hundred miles inclusive, accomplishing the featic 5 hours 50 minutes 5 2-5 sees. — Another remarkable performance on a tricycle took place recently, when Mr Bird, of the Speedwell B.C. (Birmingham), rode 221| miles in 2i hours. This is now the longest authenticated distance that has ever been covered by a cyclist on the road during the full day, and beats the records made by Mr Marriott, of Nottingham, by >* nearly three miles but the route ccvsoil by Mr Bird's ride was far more conducive to speedytravelling than that selected by the London Tricycle Club.
