MONGONUI.
Many of the ladies' dresses at the Mongonui Rink last week were very pretty, the most noticeable being Mrs Chapman, in black cashmere ; Mrs Captain Keith, brown silk costume ; Mrs O'lfeill, wine-coloured dress, and boat-shaped hat; Miss Trimnell, ecru tussore dress and fur cap : the Misses Wyles, plum-coloured dresses and black velvet toques ; Miss Chapman, black costume ; Miss Edwards, fawn-coloured dress, black velvet toque and Cambridge -blue tie. — How is it the X.'s do not wear mourning ? Is it a rule of the converted? — Miss A. H., a JNapierite, is creating quite a sensation in Kaitaia. The poor fellows' hearts are going " pit a pat." — K. and C, the twpfuture elders of the contemplated little "Bethel" to be raised some day in Mongonui, were seen in deep confab at the post-office corner the other day deploring the sinf ulness of their neighbours.
