Mv Allan "West, the popular teacher of dancing, who some few months ng-o left Auckland for Sydney on account of his delicate state of health, has returned, looking remarkably well. Mr West, during his stay in Sydney, had an enormous number of pupils, and the notices in the Sydney papers fully justify tbe opinion formed by those acquainted with Mr West in Auckland, that he is a thorough master of his profession. Mr West has merely come on a two months visit ; but if sufficient inducements were held out, it is possible he might be prevailed on to make Auckland his home. The following conversation was heard in a thirteen-and-sixpenny trousers shop in Queen-street the other day : — Tailor : " Have your trousers cut loose, by all means. You have beautiful legs for loose trousers. (Briggs is delighted.) The same size all the way up, you know." (Briggs, in imagination, wallows in that tailor's blood.)
