DRESSES AT THE RACES

Mrs McCosli Clark : A very handsome dress of olive green satin, embroidered -with beads, and trimmed with cream lace ; bonnet to match. Mrs Burton Ireland : Black silk, trimmed with jet fringe and embossed velvet ; hat of cream lace. Mrs Dargaville : Dress of fawn satin, trimmed with pink ; pink bonnet. Mrs Haines : A pretty costume of pompadour silk, trimmed with pink ; cream hat. Mrs Morriu : Handsome dress of brown satin ; jacket bodice of fawn satin ; hat to match. Mrs Angerstein : Black satin dress and Mother Hiibbard cloak, trimmed with jet ; cream bonnet with red roses. Mrs Greorge : Brocaded silk (pale biscuit colour), trimmed with white lace ; hat to match.

Mrs Isaacs : Dress of peacock blue satin ; jacket of blue dnd gold brocade— -=.very handsome ; white bonnet. Mrs Greenwood : Handsome dress of ruby satin, trimmed with white pink ; bonnet to match. The Misses Greenwood locked very pretty in white lustre dresses, trhnnied with swansdown ; large white Gainsborough hats — one trimmed with pink, and one blue. Mrs H. P. Barber : Dress of black and gold satin — very beautiful ; cream hat, and cardinal sunshade. Mrs Oppenheimer : ombre satin skirt, with a cream coloured polonaise ; cream hat. Miss Woolnough : a pretty dress of mignonette coloured silk. The Misses Isaacs looked charming — one in cream colour with hat to match, the other in pink and white, with cream hat. The Misses Whitaker were in pretty dresses of cream colour, with hats to match. Among several handsome costumes we noticed a pretty dress of light biscuit coloured brocade, -, made with jacket bodice ; also one of lead colour silk, plain and brocade, beautifully made ; and one wine coloured silk, trimmed with white lace. We regret our inability to name the_ wearers of some very handsome costumes, and wish the Auckland ladies would follow the example of their fair neighbours in Melbourne, and send us a list of their dresses.
