The old drum and fife band are on the war path again. Joe S — d and " Q.uacco Strong" are rivals for the post of big drummer. W. M. H.s old favourite airs, such as "Yankee Doodle," " The Hundred Pipers," " Auld Lang Syne," etc., are to be superseded by goody-goody melodies. One gentleman especially, avlio has for Jew's harps, has" announced his intention of becoming a member, but I think Mowbray's flute and the Jew's harp, are not likely to harmonise. A horse ! a horse! my kingdom for a horse, but poddies gave something considerably less than a kingdom for his moke. JToav, the only advisable suggestion that I can make, so that the coast trips Avould be a success is that Dixie and Coddles ought to amalgamate, Dixie, with riding Avhip, boots and spurs, and Coddles Avith his Pegasus. Charlie P., the coming silver-toned tenor, seems rather disconsolate of late. It is said that the despicable "Pontius" has (as is vulgarly termed) put Charley's nose out of joint.
