Barber, the agent for the Kangaroo Line of Sailing Packets from New York to all the principal New Zealand ports, has been notified that a vessel will be placed on the berth at New York in January to load for this city, giving importers an opportunity of getting their goods direct from New York. The young man was so impressed with the solemn language that he instantly arose and set forth for this place, where he has indeed made a name for himself by saving the soles of his fellow men. His name is Win Garrett, of the firm of Gurrett Bros., of Wukefield-street' the largest boot and shoe manufacturers in Now Zealand.
