SOUL MUSIC.

There are unstruck chords in the hearts of men That never have sounded their Avhole lives through, But snap in sunder with death, and then Are lost Avith the music the Avorld never knew. For the hand never came Avith the touch of skill That could strike a chord on those silent strings, And could wake the living lyre, to thrill With the songs of love that an angel sings. And there are hands that never found The kindred strings their fingers sought, That folded idly in the ground Have lost the songs they might have taught. The hearts and hands are mouldering low Where never sounds a song of love ; The kindred souls are singing now In deathless song in realms above. AuTOMATHES. Auckland, October 29th, 1881.
