ARATAPU.
—Mr John Chadwick's concert eventuated on last Wednesday evening, and was fairly attended. It seems a great pity that Mr C. cannot arrange a. more suitable programme to meet the taste of Aratapu people generally. However, the song* were nicely rendered, but in some of the concerted pieces the bass and tenors seemed to be off the mark. After the concert, dancing was kept up with -vigour until an early lioui'. Many people seem to be under the impression that the inveterate hoodlum " Dixie " led the disturbance at the concert on Wednesday evening, but it is erroneous ; it was one of the elders of the " Pinky-weasel " fraternity. Mick, of the Cosmopolitan, requests the pleasure of the company of the man who cut the notice-board down that directs the weary traveller to the above hostelry. What a happy meeting ifc would be, to be sure.
