Mr. Bell, the Auckland passenger avlio lost his life in the "Tararua," Avas book-keeper at the Walker gum store, and lodged for a longtime at Harbour Vie.v House in Shortland^ street. He Avas a very quiet, unassuming man, much liked and respected by all Avho knew him. Mr. Bell had suffered for nearly a year with some inj my to his leg, and Avas going home to England to consult the great English doctors. He meant to come out again via Canada, where his friends live ; and left Auckland full of hope and in excellent spirits.
