The yacht Magic has been purchased by Mr. Fairfax, of Sydney, for £2000. Mr. Halstead is having a lighter boat which ■ will shortly be ready for use. The owners of the Oval cricket ground realised.ovor £35000 by the Anglo-Australian match. The footrace between Murray and Pilldngton took place last Saturday, and was won easily by the former. The Aratapu cricketers defeated a Mantigawhare team in a match on Saturday, 7th instant. The scores were 67 and 61 respectively. lii the match between Parnell and Auckland last Saturday, the best scores wore Jervis 28 ; Lankhani, junior, 23; Ivens, 21; McCormiick, 20. G. F. Grace's death was attributed to the fact that he overtaxed himself seriously at the great Anglo. Australian match, and wouldn't take a rest afterwards. The Devonport Cricket CluT* defeated the West End second eleven rather easily in a match last Saturday. The scores were 81and 25 respectively. In a walking match at Islington, England the feat of walking 340 miles in 70 hours was accom plished by Lowell, an English pedestrian. Tom Dale, the well-known English cricketer, is still confined in the military prison, Wadsworth, England. He will be released in May, 1831. The Auckland United cricket chib, defeated the Parnell club easily in a match last Saturday, the scores being 138 and 40.
