This process was first disdiscovored by Mr. Hem, a popular photographer xn. Boston, Mass, U.S.A., and has been practised by rae since 1861. Although this method pf beautifying photoeraphs is attended with much careful manipulation, the result is very satisfactory and pleasing, as well as toneficial, inasmuch as it preserves the picture from fading and spotting by exposure to air.
