AUCKLAND, May 11,

A verdict of not guilty of murder "but guilty of manslaughter was returned by the jury in the Supreme Court this afternoon against Francis Borgia Spemseley, accused of the murder of his father, Robert Fitzroy Spenseley on February 7 last at a farm in Swanson.

The jury retired at 11.30 a.m., and returned to the Court-room at 3 p.m.

Accused was remanded for sentence.
