, MORE MLLK PRODUCED. , Cows in the Ayrshire herd -of Hugh Chisholm, of Port Chester, New York, have rubber beds to sleep on and are showing their appreciation/ by producing more milk. ' The beds are made of spongy rubber, one-quarter of an inch thick. They cover the entire Hour of the stall and keep the cow from coming in contact with the cOiusrote floor.

Mr. Chisholm says lliis'cuts’down tho risk of skin * that .may lead to disease and mastitis. The beds cost £4 to £s_ per cow, but are said to bring about a 75 per cent, saying in shavings or straw-bedding. Mr. Chisholm figures that thei beds save him about 28/- a day on a barn of 100 cows. 1
