FOUND HANGING.
TURUA FARMER'S DEATH
VERDICT AT INQUEST.
DEPRESSED CONDITION OF HEALTH.
An inquest beioro Mr. W. Bougart,, uistnct coroner, was held last evening
concerning the death ot : Arthur Peui, larmcr, ot Turua, who was found hang ing in the Kauaeranga Valley on Sat arday, April 16. Walter Morrison, a farmer in thu Kauaeranga, in his evidence stated that about 1.15 p.nt. on Saturday, Apn. 16, as lie left liis house he saw a man apparently standing up by some willows. On approaching, he saw that the man was hanging, and immediately cut him down and notified the police.
Constable Williamson stated that on Saturday, April 16, he received information that a man had been found hanging at the Kauaeranga and ho visited the locality and brought tin body to the morgue.
Dr. T. E. Miller stated he had been deceased’s medical adviser for the past two years. Despite deceased’s complaints about nerve and sleeplessness, there was nothing in his demeanour which would suggest lie intended do ing any harm to himself. Deceased’s physique and stamina were not up to the standard they had been somo months previously.
The coroner returned a verdict that apparently deceased allowed his illness to pray on his mind, and found that deceased took his life while mentally depressed.
