A brutal attack was committed oil Mr. David James Mclntyre, a wellknown farmer and thieshing-mill owner, of Digby’s Bridge, three miles from town, at 10.30 last night. On;returning with his wife after ap evening’s absence, Mr. Mclntyre heard a movement in front of his house. On

going to investigate, he was struck heavily on the head, and; raising his arm to ward off another' blow/was battered on the hand, one finger being broken. The assailant escaped, as Mr. Mclntyre was stunned by the blow on his head. A shotgun and three cartridges were found to be missing.
