“A DOVE OF PEACE.”
VISITOR FROM AUSTRALIA. TO N.Z. SEAMEN’S UNION. OFFICIAL ARRIVES BY AWATEA. [By Telegraph.—Press Awsociation] AUCKLAND, April 12. “It is a dove of peace this time,” smiling said Mr. T. Fleming, president of tho Seamen’s Union of Australia, who arrived by the Awatea to confer with the New Zealand Seamen’s Union.
“Things seem to be going along very nicely now,” he said. “The annual
visits have been arranged between the unions, the object being to discuss any matter of interest to seamen on both sides of the Tasman that may crop up.”
Mr. Fleming leaves for Wellington to-night or to-morrow to confer with members of the New Zealand Union.
