ih** ] m^^^^. MILITARY > MANOEUVRES Tim and Ru are enthusiastic members of "B for Beer" Company, Thirst Regiment, Waipiro Rangers (Territorials). This year the annual Camp was held in the convenient vicinity of a popular estaminet which was promptly dubbed "Camp Headquarters." Highlights of the ten days' training were:— 1. The privilege of hearing the Colonel call for a noggin of Tiger*' Milk, and the untold delight of the troops hearing the barman call him "Dig." 2. The time they stole the "water" out of the Sergeant-Major's water-bottle, and replaced it with water. 8. The S-M's look of dumbfounded amazement when a surreptitious sip revealed that his water-bottle was filled with water* His first taste of aqua puera in thirty years. 4, The discovery of what the Quarter-Master carries in Rifle Chest* (it's not condensed milk, either). 5* The discovery of the true meaning of the "Medical Comforts" Chest, and why the Medical Orderly guards it with such loving mare, A good time teas had by ale.
