PASSENGER KILLED.
IN FATAL COLLISION. CAR GOES OVER BANK. ANOTHER PERSON INJURED. [By Telegraph.—Press Association] WANGANUI, Dec. 13.
A fatal accident occurred on the Utiku-Mangaweka road about 11 miles from Utiku about 5 p.m. on Saturday, when two cars collided on a bend, one vehicle going over a 40ft bank. Mrs. Rose Ella Liddicoaf, aged 35, wife of Mr. C. P. Liddicoat, of Mangawcka, suffered severe head injuries and died before an ambulance arrived. Mrs Eileen Henderson, aged 38, wife of Mr. R. C. Henderson, of Mangaweka, was unconscious when removed to hospital. Her condition is serious. Tho car which left the road was driven by Mr. Henderson, whose wife was seated beside him. In tho real were Mrs. Liddicoat, Miss Desma Collin and Mr. Harding. All the other occupants suffered shock and abrasions. Tho other car was driven by Mr. W. F. Pope, of Raurimu. It came to rest in a paddock and Mr. Pope was uninjured.
