GERMANY BUILDING THREE TRANSMITTERS A great television exhibition in Berlin reveals that Britain and Germany are close competitors for the television leadership of Europe. Some critics believe that the advantage, which has hitherto been with Britain, now lies with Germany. Whereas the British Broadcasting Corporation has only one transmitter, Germany is building three, with a range of 100 miles, and believes the time is ripe to sell sets to the public. The screens at the German exhibition are the largest yet seen. One is six feet by eight, another three feet by four.
