HELD TO LORRY.

YOUTH SERIOUSLY HURT. cyclist before court. “A DANGEROUS PRACTICE.” [By Telegraph.—Press Association] HAMILTON, Aug. 24. “This is a dangerous practice which is very prevalent in Hamilton, and we want it know that it must stop,” said Senior-Sergeant G. 11. Lambert in the Hamilton Police Court, when prosecuting a youth, Herbert Davis Parker, for permitting a bicycle to be towed by another vehicle.

Senior-Sergeant Lambert said that defendant released his hold when being towed by a motor-lorry. He fell heavily and was seriously injured, and had since spent many weeks in hospital. The speaker said he did not ask for a penalty, as lie felt defendant had been punished enough. Defendant was convicted and discharged.
