I ELOMFIELD DISQUALIFIED. VICTORY TO "KING KONG" CON. [Special to "Star"] AUCKLAND, Aug. !>. The disqualification of "Lofty" Blomfield for striking his opponent, "King Kong" Cox, in the seventh round brought a sudden termination to their lively wrestling contest at the Town Hall on Saturday night. Blomfield had been twice thrown through the ropes, and on the second occasion, while he was standing on the staging outside the ring, he hit Cox with his clenched fist. Prior to this incident each man had obtained a fall. The first was won by Cox in the fourth round. He jolted the Aucklander several times prior to lifting him for a slam and body press. Blomfield drew level in the sixth round. A series of forearm jolts was followed by three flying tackles, each of which sent Cox sprawling, and Blomfield then finished with a body press.

A HECTIC BOUT.

EXCITEMENT AT GISBORNE.

[By Telegraph.—Press Association] GISBORNE, Aug. 9.

Matros Kirilenko defeated Chief Little Wolf at the Opera House on Saturday night by two falls to one after seven rounds of kectic wrestling. Kirilenko scored a fall in the fourth round with a body press following a slam. The Indian retaliated in the sixth.round with a deathlock, which he refused to release, the referee having to break the men apart. Chief Little Wolf was disqualified in the seventh round when he tied the Russian's legs in the ropes and would not let go.

The bout was a very rough and hectic affair, the Indian being warned repeatedly for using strangleholds and other illegal tactics. The referee lost his shirt during a melee in the third round. When disqualified, Chief Little Wolf attacked Kirilenko, who retaliated by chasing him with a water bottle. The ring was eventually cleared by the police.

STEVE SAVAGE DEFEATED.

JUDSON BEATS WALKER.

[By Telegraph. Press Association] WELLINGTON, Aug. 9.

A professional wrestling contest held here on "Saturday night between Frank Bronowicz, 10.0, and Steve Savage, 15.0, was won by the former by a surprise fall in the seventh round. Both men impressed with their workmanship. In another bout Prank Judson, 1G.2, beat George Walker, 15.0, on points after each man had obtained a fall in the fifth and sixth rounds respectively. It was a colourless bout.

The junior heavyweight elimination contest for the New Zealand title was won by Snowy Bartlett (New Zealand), 13.5, from Peter Venter (South Africa) r 4.0, by a penalty fall in the second of three rounds.

"STRANGLER" LEWIS AGAIN.

GLEN WADE BEATEN

[By Telegraph.—Press Association] DUNE DIN, Aug. 9.

In a wrestling match held here on Saturday night, "Strangler" Lewis, 18. G, took tho decision against Glen Wade by two falls to one. The first fall went to Lewis in the third round with a body press, but Wade squared accounts in the next round when he lifted Lewis in a crutch hold for a heavy dump. Lewis landed like the proverbial ton of bricks .and a body press finished tho move, to the huge delight of the crowd. The end caina early in fflo sixth round when Lewis, by his sheer bulk and strength, gained the deciding fall. The result was not well received by the spectators, whose sympathies were all with Wade. »

WIN FOR McCREADY.

JOHN SPELLMAN BEATEN

[By Telegraph.—Press Association] URE'I'MOUTU, Aug. 9.

In a wrestling match a"t the Town Hall on Saturday night Earl McCready, 10.12, beat John Spnllman, 15.12, by one fall to nil. McCready gained tho fall in the sixth round with a body press, following a series of elbow-jolts and two severe dumps.
