WOMEN'S INSTITUTE. THE TURUA BRANCH. The Turua branch of the Women's Institute monthly meeting was held in the Turua Buildings on Thursday afternoon, Mrs. Hill presiding over a good attendance of members. The Rev. F. C. Truman gave an interesting and instructive address on the New Education Fellowship Conference. The roll-call was for suggestions for a birthday party and a social dance in the evening. The competition was the drawing of animals, which was won by Mrs. Tread-

away. It was decided to hire a bus to at tend the Kopuarahi birthday party.

Afternoon tea was served, after which a social half-hour was spent. The meeting was brought to an end with the singing of the National Anthem.
