TURUA NOTES.
FIRM'S DIAMOND JUBILEE. Sixty years ago tho firm of Bagnall Bros, was established at Turua, first as sawmillers and latterly as storekeepers. During this period they have been closely associated with the progress of the district, and have seen the country transformed from dense bushlands to fertile farmlands. To mark the anniversary, the firm has hired tho Turua. Hall on the evening of June 29, when the residents have been invited to be the guests of Bagnall Bros, at a suitable picturo programme. Social. On Wednesday last Mrs, F. Bell held a 500 card evening at her residence in connection with the Church of England funds. Tho prize-winners were Mrs. Dan do and Mr. «?. Griffiths, Mrs. McNaughton and Mr. F. Howard. Basketball. Owing to High School A being unable to arrange transport on Saturday last, they played their match with Turua A on Thursday at Ngatea. The score was: Turua A 24, High School A IG.
