Increasing Sales.

OP MORRIS CARS. NEW ZEALAND MARKET. The 1935-36 season of Morris Industries Exports, Ltd., ended on July 31 last, and once again the company had pleasure in announcing a substantial increase over the preceding season's business. The combined overseas sales of Morris, Walseley, Morris-Commercial and M.G. products for 1935-36 represented an increase of more than 30 per cent, compared with the 1934-35 season. Among the territories responsible for this advance —which is, however, mainly an all-round one —are: New Zealand (where Morris cars have been heading the British registrations for many months), Australia, India (including Burma and Ceylon), and Europe.

Large as the "M.1.E." buildings at Cowley already are, they are not being found extensive enough to cope with this steadily expanding business, and offices and packing shop are at the moment being enlarged to an extent of 20,5005 q. ft. In addition, an entirely new shop is being erected which will cover a further 20,0005 q. ft. Extra railway lines are being provided, and very soon "M.1.E." will have five private sidings at its disposal, with accommodation for approximately 150 trucks.

It is interesting to note that, of the total passenger ear exports from the United Kingdom for tho 11 months ended June last (the latest ligures available), 29.3 per cent, consisted of Morris, Wolseley and M.G. cars.
