SPECTACLE. Grand Military Ball. AT KINCKS THKATRE. . A LARGE ATTENDANCE;. . The King's. Theatre was en fete on Monday-night, when the C Squadron of .'the. The Sjupper tables at St.-James 1 Hall were most tastefully decorated and lavisshly set. The bowls of scarlet anemones on the' official table made a. startling offset to the Ice-* land poppies : on the buffet tables, all being the' excellent work of Mrs. J. Pease. •

The' hostesses for the .evening were Mesdames T. McCarroll" and M. Liggins, Avho carried posies of roses and sweet peas, with, maidenhair fern, a.nd orange-shaded primroses respectively;, these, were also the handiwork of Mrs. Pease.

Mesdames Wilson and McGregor, who accompanied their husbands, Major Wilson and Captain' McGregor, from Auckland, Wex'e the guests of the official party.
