YOUNG WOMAN SENTENCED. CARRIED FROM DOCK. HALF-CASTE IN TROUBLE. (By Teiegrapn.—Press Association). AUCKLAND, Oct. 1. Carried from the dock screaming, at the Police Court, Marcia Teresa Nilson, a half-caste domestic, aged 21, was sentenced to two years' refromative detention on one of two charges of theft. She was charged with the theft of a fur coat, a bridge coat, costume and frock, of a total Value of' £3O, from the dwelling of Maysie Myers at 'Milford, and also with the theft -of a suit length, valued at £l/10-, the -property of Robinson Bros. She pleaded guilty to. the first charge and not guilty to the second. The police said accused worked next door to Mrs. Myers. The home of the latter was burnt doAvn Ie she was at the races on Decem--2 last. LSeptember 2 last Mrs. Myers J|cused wearing her fur coat Pen Street.

Mr. Meek, for Nilson, said accused had been living with her parents for some time and was unfortunate in the company she had been keeping. Mr. Hunt, S.M., said accused had been sent to a Borstal Institute because of a very clever theft coinknitted at Gisbome. Probation was fcit of the question.
