Thames Rugby Union.
MEETING LAST NIGHT. NO FOOTBALL ON SATURDAY. SMOKE CONCERT ARRANGED. A meeting of the Management Committee of the Thames Rugby Union was held last evening. The chairman, Mr. J. Grant, presided, and business was quickly transacted. Another Good Gate. The secretary reported that the gate' receipts at Rhodes Park last Saturday again proved 'very gratifying, the takings being £Bl/19/-. Members commented on the game, and it was the general opinion that Maniapoto had shown Thames that the Peace Cup would not be easy to hold. The chairman expressed his thanks to all officials who had worked at the Park and had helped to make the afternoon such a success. No Games on Saturday. After discussion, it was decided that, in view of the High School sports and the races at Paeroa on Saturday next, to postpone the final match of the. season —College Old Boys v. The Rest, for the Porath Shield —until Saturday, October 10.

Arrangements were finalised for the holding of a complimentary smoke concert in the Druids' Hall on Saturday eVening.
