In order to provide data as, a guide to the possibilities of establishing a sugar-beet industry in Taranakj, experiments in growing sugar-beet are to be undertaken by South TaWiaki boys' and girls' agricultural clubs this year, The yield and sugar content of t'he beet grown in different areas will be ascertained. Mr. R. Syme, agricultural instructor, said that 100 plots scattered over South Taranakf would provide valuable information for the Government, which was conducting trials to ascertain the value of bee't for sugar in New Zealand,
