Italian Films.
RESTORATION SCHEME. An ambitious scheme to restore Italian film production to its prewar position has been carried a step forward by Walter Wanger, the American producer; Dr. A. li. Gian--lini, the Italian-American banker, who has just become head of United Artists; and Signor Mussolini himjelf. Mr. Wanger has seen the Duee, .1 company has been formed, and arrangements have been made to use one of the 40 new studios which are to be erected outside the walls of Rome, near the Appian Way. The policy will be to import not only American stars, but also complete production units. The Italian Government, anxious to build up an Italian Hollywood, is expected to give the fullest assistance.
