COROMANDEL OLD BOYS. WEEK-END EXCURSION. FOOTBALL MATCH AND DANCE. The excursion to Coromandel from Auckland during the Aveek-end Avas taken advantage of by about 150 former residents of Coromandel. An enjoyable time Avas spent by the excursionists, and many old friendships Avere reneAved. The visitors were Avelcomed by the president of the Coromandel Rugby Unino, Mr. W. Peters, prior to the annual football match betAA r een the Old Boys and Coromandel. The president of the association, Mr. R. Bosavcll, responded. The Coromandel team defeated the Old Boys by 9 points to 6. A dance Avas held in the evening.
A sight-seeing trip Avas arranged for the visitors on Sunday morning, and during the afternoon the excursionists Avere given an opportunity to visit their friends.
There Avas a large gathering at the Coromandel Avliarf Avhen the visitors left for Auckland by the Hauiti on Sunday afternoon. A netAVork of streamers connected those on the ship Avith their friends on the Avharf, and the Coromandel Silver Band played several selections as the ship steamed away.
