• AUSTRALIAN GOLD. ASSAY VALUE OF 48 OZ. PER TON A second very rich yield of gold has been reported from the Halley's Comet gold mine recently discovered near Marble Bar, on the Pilbara goldtteld, Western Australia. In July a yield of 5590 z 15dwt 17gr of gold, valued at £4BIO, Avas announced by the Marble Bar State battery, Avhere ore Avas treated. On August 11 it Avas reported that a second crushing of 71 tons returned 5740 z 12dwt 2gr. At Mt. Broome, in the King Leopold Ranges in the Kimberley district, a quartz reef Avas found at a depth of 6ft, and it is reported that stone obtained from it assayed over 48oz a ton. The reef was found by C. R. Turner and party in October of last year, and a reserve Avas granted to Westralia Prospectors, Ltd., of Adelaide.
