Obituary.

MR. ALEXANDER WHITLEY,

[ The dea'th occurred at the residence of his cousin, Mrs. J. McClellaud, of Hamilton, of Mr. Alexander Whitley, aged 71 years, Avho Avas a resident of Thames for many years. Mr. Whitley was manager of tho Waiotahi, Waitaugi and other Thames mines for a considerable period, and then joined 'the Mines Department, being appointed inspector for the South Island, which position he held for 20 years. Ho retired about 10 years ago and came to Thames, Avhere he built a bungaloav residence in Upper Pollen Street. After the death of Mrs. Whitley three years ago, Mr. Whitley resided at Hamilton.
