HOLLYWOOD NOTES. THE MOST ESSENTIAL FROCK. Jit every girl's wardrobe the most essential frock is the informal black crepe which figures more prominently for clay time wear. For the wardrobe of Grace Brad-

ley, who is currently appearing in one of the important supporting roles in Paramount'* "Rose of the Rancho," the picture in which Miss Gladys Swarthoul, star of the Metropolitan Opera Company, of New York, made her screen debut, this charming frock has been chosen. The fullness in the long tunic is flattering to the figure and the collar and cuff's of white lace lend animation.

A PERIOD GOWN. One of the gowns Gertrude Michael ,is wearing in "Reunion," opposite Herbert- Marshall, at present in production at the Paramount studios, is actually a period gown. But there is little doubt, that with the present craze for drapery this grey chiffon creation couldn't easily pass as contemporary. The enlire front of the skirt drapes up into the high waistline. The bodice is .surplice and the decolletage extreme. The gown is embroidered with dia-mond-cut rhinestoni's, and a wreath of l'hinestone Mowers for the hair completes the costume.

METAL CLOTH FROCK. What Hollywood's younger so would do without metal cloth is ; dec]), dark mystery. Grace Bradley Paramount player in "Anythiiii. din's," has a semi-formal afternooi t'roek id' .crepe lame in green gold. There is a short .skirt of the fabric and a lons', circular tunic, with ; ! very high neckline which gives i most sophisticated illusion. It's Hit perfect frock for these days whei it matters what peeks out from under one's I'm* coat.
