INKXI’ENGIVE EXPEKI MEET. MR. SAVAGE’S ASSURANCE. (By Telegraph .—Press- Association). WELLINGTON, 'March 16. The Prime Minister, Mr, M. J. Savage, states that proceedings in Parliament will be broadcast through Station 2YA, but if it is necessary to increase the transmission of Parliamentary speeches as the result of public demand, independent liansmitting arrangements will have to lie made.
The Government, he says, is merey making an inexpensive experiment to ascertain whether the community desires to listen to Parliamentary debates. It is not the Government's intention to deprive listeners of musical and other entertainment over the air. Only selected speakers will he given an opportunity to speak over the air and only major debates and important statements will he broadcast.
