After 35 Years.
BROTHERS MEET AGAIN
REUNION AT AUCKLAND. Two brothers who had not seen each other for 35 years were reunited on Thursday after the arrival from Glasgow of the Auckland Harbour Board’s new tug, the William C. Daldy. The master of the tug, Captain J. S. Corfe, and his younger brother, Mr. R. G. Corfe, of Senders Avenue, Takapuna, both left their home in Liverpool 35 years ago and had not met each other since then, although Captain Corfe spoke by telephone from Wellington to his brother at Auckland during the Great War, when the former was on a troop ship. Captain Corfe went to sea in a sailing vessel and remained in sailing ships until he became a captain. Later he joined the Blue Funnel Line of steamers. In recent years he has been living in Liverpool. The younger brother went first to South Africa. About 30 years ago he came to New Zealand and has since lived in Auckland.
