The sub-committees of CahinH met to-day to deal with the tasks allotted to them. Work early this afternoon had not progressed beyond a preliminary stage, and, until some thing' conclusive is reached, no statement can be expected, according to the Brime Minister, the Hon. M. J. Savage.

Much depends on the Finance Committee, which has devoted most of to-day examining questions of currency and banking, a job that involves reference to numerous international authorities. The question of charges in the existing law necessary to enable the Government to proceed along its new lines, was also considered.
