The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report that yesterday at Westfield there was a large yarding of beef and a steady demand with values on a par with last week's sale.
Extra-choice ox beef sold to 25/per 1001 b; choice ,and prime, 20/- to 24/-; secondary and plain, 16/- to 19/-; prime yourig> cow and heifer beef, 20/- to 24/-; secondary, 14/to 19/-. Extra heavy prime steers ranged in price from £lO to £lO/17/6; heavy, £9 to £9/17/6; lighter, £8 to £B/17/6; light, £7 to £7/17/6; small and unfinished, £6 to £6/17/6; extra heavy prime young cows and heifers, £6/10/- to £7/2/6; heavy, £5/10/to £6/5/-; lighter, £4/5/- to £5/7/6; light, £2/15/- to £4/2/6; others, £1 5/- to £2/10/-.
