Export Of Apples.
GISBORNE. DISTRICT. FALL IN PRODUCTION. ltsy Telegraph —t*ress Association). GISBORNE, March 6. Indications are that this will be the least productive apple export season Gisborne has experienced for a number of years. It was realised at the outset that the crop would be less than usual, and that probably only 12,000 cases, or about half last year’s total, would be available for shipment overseas. A recent survey of orchard conditions suggests that the 12,000 mark may not bo reached. In fact,: the total may fall a great deal below this figure. If so, the seasons ex.ports- will be- the smallest since 1927.
