Empire Exhibition.
SOUTH AUSTRALIA. CENTENARY PLANS. Plans are progressing for the celebration of South Australia's centenary in 1936. It has been agreed to make a common appeal for funds, of which £65,000 will be set aside for the erection of a Centenary Hall at which an Empire exhibition will be held. An advance of £IOOO has been made for preliminary publicity, chiefly overseas, and a large measure of co-operation has been promised.
The assistance of Captain Frank Hurley has been sought for the production of travelogue films which will be shown abroad, and there is a project of Simpson Newland's celebrated novel, "Paving the Way," to be made into a film.
