NGATEA. The quarterly meeting of the Ngatea sub-branch of the Plunket Society was held in Mrs. P. It. Wilkins' garden on Tuesday afternoon. Mrs. Budding presided over a largo attendance. Reports on the past three months' work were received from the Plunket Nurse, Miss Rogerson. The treas urer, Mrs. T. Sydenham, reported a satisfactory credit balance. The annual meeting and election of officers was fixed for April L at the residence of Mrs. J. Motion, Hopai, and the annual Plunket Ball will be held in the Ngatea Halj on May 9. The secretary, Mrs. Motion, tendered her resignation owing to her approaching visit to England. The resignation was accepted with regret and Mrs. Cotter was elected to the vacancy.
At the conclusion of the business Mrs. Dudding, on behalf of those present, wished Mrs. Motion a very pleasant journey and handed her a writing case, after which little Alan, Sydenham gave her a beautiful bouquet of autumn-tinted flowers, and everyone sang "For She's a Jolly Good Fellow." Mrs. Motion briefly returned thanks.
Brisk trade was done at the sales table by Mesdames Justin and Waite, the sum of over £3 being added to the Society's funds. Afternoon tea was served under the trees. A beautiful collection of fruit was tho prize for a competition won by Mrs. Hodgson. A hearty vote of thanks was passed, to Mrs. P. R. Wilkins for the use of her garden. Personal. Mrs. Sydenham, Senr., is the guest of her daughter-in-law, Mrs. T. Sydenham . Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wilkins and their daughter are visiting Mr. and Mrs. P. R. Wilkins.
