War Bursaries.
EX-SERVICEMEN'S CHILDREN. GRANTS TOWARDS EDUCATION. Headquarters of the New Zealand Returned Soldiers' Association has circularised branches pointing out that there is a lack of knowledge of the bursaries granted children who are dependents of a member of the New Zealand Expeditionary Forces who has been killed through active military service, Or who, as the result of such service, has suffered disablement sufficient in the opinion of the War Pensions Board to warrant the award of a bursary for
education. The bursaries are for free education at technical classes other than at a technical high school, for free places at secondary, district high or technical schools, and for university education, and they range from £1 10/- to £lO. If obliged to live away from home in order to prosecute his studies, there are additional grants for boarding allowance ranging from £ls to £3O, while travelling expenses between home and school are met with grants of from £5 to £lO per annum.
