STOREKEEPER INJURED. Two Burglars Surprised. NTH. CANTERBURY SENSATION. MEN ESCAPE IN WAITING CAR. (By Telegraph.—Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 28. Two burglars who broke into a store at Woodend were surprised by the proprietor, Mr. C. 13. Bourne, They opened fire on him with a revolver, inflicting a painful wound on one hand. Mr. Bourne had heard suspicious noises and armed himself with a shotgun. He saw men leaving and fired a shot, which drew two revolver shots in reply. The men then ran down the road, with Mr. Bourne firing after them. They leaped into a waiting car and drove off. They passed Mr. Bourne and fired two more shots, one of them inflicting the wound on tho hand.
