Hikutaia Stock Sale.
FORTNIGHTLY SALE. MEDIUM YARDING. The Farmers’ Co-op. Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report having held their fortnightly sale at Hikutaia on Wednesday, when a medium yarding p£ bed- came forward. The entry met with a quiet market, values dropping slightly on late quotations. A mdeiuin entry of dairy cattle met with good competition, values being firm at late rates. Quotations: — Cattle: Mediqjn fat cows, £3/10/to £4/2/6; light, £2/5/- to £3/5/-; killable cows, 36/- to £2/2/-; freshconditioned cows, 22/- to 35/-; boners, 5/- to 20/-; yearling Jer-sey-cross heifers, 20/- to 25/-; service bulls, £2/5/- to £4; potter bulls, to 17/6. Dairies: Friesian heifers, calved, £5 to £5/12/6; Jersey heifers, closo to profit, £4/10/- to £5; calved, £3 15/- to £4/10/-; Jersey and Jerseycross heifers, £2 to £3/10/-. Pigs: A small entry of pigs sold, readily at late quotations. Light porkers, 38/- to £2/2/-; slips, 18/to 20/-; weaners, good, 15/- to 18/-; smaller, 8/6 to 14/-.
