Farmers At Variance.

CLAIM AND COUNTER-CLAIM. DOG AND SHEEP INVOLVED. THE MAGISTRATE'S DECISION. Two Turua farmers sought settlement of their grievances beforo Mr. J. H. Luxford, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court yesterday. William Charles Urquhart sued Edward Alfred Clark for £3, the stated value of a dog he alleged Clark had poisoned. Clark replied with a counter-claim for lambs and ewes he alleged had been worried by plaintiff's dog and others, and for the loss of cattle skins and meat, which altogether he valued at £24 3/9.

Mr. E. J. Clendon appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr. A. G. Bryan for the defendant.

The case occupied the greater part of the day, and concluded at six o'clock.

Judgment was given for Clark in the counter-claim for £l7/14/-, the value of the lambs and ewes, and costs totalling £l6.
