World’s Record?
N.Z. RIFLEMEN 1 . SENSATIONAL SHOOTING. (By Telegraph.—Press Association). BLENHEIM, Sept. 19. Extraordinary shooting, -which is believed to constitute a world’s record, was achieved yesterday by W. N. Mas*efield, the well-known Marlborough rifleman, when practising with- W. H. West at the Blenheim butts. Shooting at the 300, 500, 600 and 900 yards ranges, seven shots at each, Masefield scored a bull with each of his 28 shots, thus achieving four successive possibles at the varying ranges. West dropped only one point at each range, so that between them the marksmen fired 56 shots and registered 52 bulls. Masefield leaves on Tuesday to take part in a series of rifle meetings in Australia. ■.I- .. j, w
