Sporting Drama.
THE KING’S THEATRE. ELISSA LANDI; VICTOR McLAGLEN. A sporting drama of the racing track, bringing in the exciting English Derby and showing the complete drawing of the Calcutta Sweep by two blind children, is to be shown at the King’s.Theatre tonight and to-morrow night at 8 o’clock. The title of the picture is “The Devil’s Lottery,” in which Victor McLaglen and Elissa Landi are seen at their best, supported by an all-star cast. This exciting melodrama is characterised by “New York Life” as “One of the most exciting and sensational sporting dramas we have seen.” The “Los Angeles Times” said: “It is refreshing to note that the film producers have for once left the beaten track and given us something novel in the way of entertainment. It kept us wide awake and guessing a lot while we were entertained in lavish fashion. Enjoyed it immensely, as you will when you see it.” A numbei; of good shorts fill out a fine programme. '
