Ex-Thames Miner Dead.
REPORT FROM PAPUA. News was received by cable yesterday of the death of Mr Martin Mclnteer at the Edie Creek goldfields, New Guinea. Particulars are meagre, but it is understood that his death was the result of an accident when working near a dredge. Mr Mclnteer, who was the youngest son of the late Mr James Mclnteer, a Thames mining pioneer, and brother of Mrs D. Twohill, left Thames two years ago under contract to work for Mr Delaney, manager of one of the mining ventures on the New Guinea fields. He leaves a widow (a sister to Mr Bain Hogg, of Thames), and four children.
