Womens Division.

MEETING AT COLVILLE. FUNDS FOR PIANO. The monthly meeting of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union was held recently in tho Memorial Hall, Colville. Present; Mrs W. Evans, president, in the chair; Mesdames M. E. Ward, Mellsop, McCall, Senr., Murray, Wood, F. McCall, Simmonds, Goudie, Fleming, F. Young, J. W. Ward, Reddy, C. Young, A. Evans; Misses I. Young, B Curtis, Evans and C. McCall.

It decided to raise funds for the purchase of the piano as decided at the previous- meeting of the Division. It was also decided to have a social gathering to celebrate the anniversary of this branch of the Women’s Division on October 6, and to extend an invitation to members of the Women’s Institutes of Mercury Bay, Coromandel and Kennedy’s Bay. Afternoon tea was served, the members of the Farmers’ Union being present as guests. The Division’s card party and dance was held in the Memorial Hall on Saturday. The prize-winners were Mrs W. Evans 1,. Miss Ethel Evans 2; Mr Walter Evans 1, Mr R. S. Goudie 2.

Music for the dance was supplied by Messrs E. Bridle and C. Jackson (accordeon), M. . and C. Jackson acting as M.C.’s • The proceeds willi augment the fund for the purchase of a piano.
