White’s boarding house, each girl having to pay for an opponent. .Next Friday is the big night at Mercury Bay when the Rugby Union hold the annual 'social and distribution of trophies. Mr F. Rhodes is installing a wireless set for the evening,. also electric lights. Trophies to be presented are the Birch, White, Bryce and Kidd Cups, and the Rhodes Shield. Mr S. Bryce, manager of the Jackman Estate, Mercury Bay, reports that ho and one of his men discovered a dead lamb on the Mill Creek run with a hole in the head and the bottom jaw a few feet away from the carcase. The circumstances were a mystery as there were no pig tracks in the locality.
