GOOD SUPPLIES AVAILABLE,
Lovers of oysters have eagerly been awaiting the official opening of the season for the Auckland “rocks,” which came into force yesterday.
Supplies generally were up to last year’s standard, but the 10 per cent, cut apparently has not been made by the Government in its prices to deal-
The bivalves from the Gulf beds have opened up j3articularly well, and are of better size generally than in former years. Prices remain the same as last year, and good clearances are reported by retailers.
